Primary 5 maths syllabus: every topic, by term
The 12 topics your child meets in Primary 5, in the order most Singapore schools teach them. Aligned to the latest (2026) MOE syllabus.
The short version
Primary 5 maths covers 12 topics, taught across Terms 1 to 4: Whole Numbers and Four Operations; Fractions and Division; Area of Triangle; Volume of Cube and Cuboid; Shapes and Spatial Reasoning; Decimals; Percentage; Rate; Angles; Properties of Triangles; Parallelogram, Rhombus and Trapezium; and Number and Shape Patterns. The year ends with the school's end-of-year exam.
Primary 5 is the year the work gets heavier: fractions become division, ratio and percentage arrive, and geometry starts asking for reasons, not just answers. Here is the whole year, term by term, with the one mistake that trips most children on each.
