About StudyLah
Education technology, built seriously for PSLE maths practice.
StudyLah Learning Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore education technology company focused on helping Primary 3 to 6 students prepare for PSLE Mathematics.
Built from first-hand experience of the Singapore primary school and PSLE journey, StudyLah combines education expertise with technology to create a more effective way to practise.
We believe that good practice should do more than keep children busy. It should challenge them at the right level, show them what they truly know, and help them improve.
Five things we do differently
Easy practice is not PSLE practice.
Children should practise at the level they will actually face.
StudyLah questions are designed around the Singapore Mathematics curriculum and calibrated to reflect the level of difficulty expected in PSLE and top-school examinations.
We do not believe that making practice easier makes learning better. If a child is ready for a harder question, the platform should give them one.
A mastery score should actually mean something.
A score should not simply go up because a child answered a few easy questions correctly.
StudyLah uses an Elo-based rating system, similar to the system used in chess, to estimate a student's skill level across different topics. The rating takes into account the difficulty of the questions and the child's performance over time.
This gives us a meaningful way to track mastery and decide what a child should practise next.
Mistakes should lead to more practice, not just a red cross.
Getting a question wrong is useful if the child gets another chance to understand the concept.
StudyLah keeps the questions a child gets wrong in their Mistake Book. When they return to a mistake, StudyLah serves a fresh question from the question bank that tests the same concept.
The child therefore has to demonstrate that they understand the concept, rather than simply remember the previous answer.
An interactive tutor should work on the actual question.
Lah is StudyLah's interactive tutor.
When a child gets stuck, Lah works through the exact question in front of them. Lah highlights the important keywords, chalks the relevant figures, and works through the solution line by line.
The explanation is built around the question the child is actually doing. It is not a video walkthrough of a different question, and it is not simply an answer with an explanation underneath.
Exam practice should feel like an exam.
StudyLah's Exam Mode gives students a full paper in the appropriate format, with timing and automatic marking.
For P5 and P6, students receive an Achievement Level. For P3 and P4, they receive a band.
The result is not just a mark at the end of a paper. Wrong answers can be reviewed, explained and added to the child's Mistake Book for further practice.
Built carefully. Checked carefully.
Getting a question wrong should be a learning opportunity, never a misprint.
Our question bank is developed and reviewed with experienced Singapore educators, including former MOE teachers. Questions are checked against the Singapore Mathematics curriculum and the standards we expect students to meet.
Parents and students can also flag a question directly in StudyLah if something does not look right. We review reported questions and make corrections when needed.

Built in Singapore, for the Singapore maths curriculum.
StudyLah is designed specifically around the Singapore Mathematics curriculum and the way Singapore students prepare for PSLE.
We believe technology can do more than put worksheets on a screen. It can adapt practice to a child's level, make mistakes useful, provide help at the moment it is needed, and give parents a clearer view of where their child stands.
PSLE ready, lah.
See it for yourself.
The free plan is real practice, no cost and no pressure. The best introduction isn't more reading from us. It's letting your child try it.
