Cookie policy
Effective date: 1 July 2026 Last updated: 16 July 2026
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies StudyLah uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, do related jobs. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. Cookies cannot run programs or carry viruses.
The cookies we use
We group the cookies and similar technologies we use into two kinds.
- Necessary cookies. These keep the service working. They sign you in and keep you signed in, remember your basic preferences, and protect against fraud and abuse. The service does not work properly without them, so they are always on.
- Analytics cookies. These help us understand how people use StudyLah, for example which pages are visited and which features are used, so we can fix problems and improve the product. We use PostHog, served through our own domain. We look at usage in aggregate, we do not identify individual children, we do not record your screen, and we anonymise IP addresses in analytics. You can turn analytics off at any time, as explained under "Your choices" below.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not let third parties use cookies on StudyLah to target advertising.
How long cookies last
Some cookies last only for your current visit and are deleted when you close your browser. Others stay on your device for a set period so the site can remember you on your next visit, for example to keep you signed in. The exact lifespan depends on the cookie's purpose.
Your choices
You can turn analytics off at any time from your StudyLah account settings, and you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or clearing them. Most browsers let you do this in their privacy or settings menu.
We use only necessary cookies and privacy-first analytics, so we do not show a separate cookie pop-up. This policy, together with our Privacy Policy, is how we tell you what we collect and how to opt out.
If you block necessary cookies, parts of StudyLah may stop working, for example staying signed in.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use StudyLah after an update means you accept the updated policy.
