PSLE Maths 2027: the syllabus, topics and paper
The short version
PSLE Maths 2027 has the same syllabus and the same paper as 2026: two papers on one day, 50 marks each. Paper 1 (1 h 10 min) is done without a calculator, Paper 2 (1 h 20 min) with one. It tests the whole primary syllabus, and P6 still teaches 8 topics, 4 of them new: Algebra, Ratio, Circles and Average. Speed is not tested, though the 2024 and 2025 papers each had a Speed question.

What is tested in PSLE Maths 2027?
The whole primary Maths syllabus, P1 to P6. SEAB states the paper's purpose:
SEAB
The purpose of the Mathematics examination is to assess pupils’ attainment in mathematics at the end of primary education with respect to the objectives of the Primary Mathematics syllabus.
And MOE says no question goes beyond it:
MOE
All questions, including challenging ones, are based entirely on the primary school syllabus and do not require knowledge beyond the curriculum.
By the exam your child has met 29 ideas, 13 of them over more than one year. P6 carries 4 on from earlier years (Fractions, Percentage, Angles and Volume) and starts 4: Algebra, Ratio, Circles and Average.

Is PSLE Maths 2027 the same as 2026?
Yes: the same syllabus and the same paper. SEAB's current Mathematics syllabus is the one for examination from 2026, and SEAB had published no newer one by 29 October 2026. 2026 was the first PSLE on the new primary syllabus:
MOE
The 2021 mathematics syllabus will be applicable to Primary 6 from 2026 onwards.
The paper changed with it. Papers from 2025 and before follow the old format:
Is Speed tested in PSLE Maths 2027?
No. Speed is not in the primary syllabus at any level, P1 to P6. Rate, taught in P5, still is.
The 2024 and 2025 papers, the last two set on the old syllabus, each had a Speed question in Paper 2, worth 2 and 3 marks.
Can my child still practise with past year papers?
Yes, with three changes. The Ten-Year Series and school papers from 2025 or before were set on the old syllabus and the old format.
- Skip the Speed questions. They are not on the 2027 paper.
- Time it the new way. An old Paper 1 is 45 marks in 1 h and an old Paper 2 55 marks in 1 h 30 min. The 2027 papers are 50 marks each, in 1 h 10 min and 1 h 20 min.
- Check the year on the cover. A school paper set from 2026 on follows the new syllabus.
Is there a topic weightage for PSLE Maths?
No. SEAB does not publish how many marks each topic carries. It publishes what the paper assesses, and one of its three objectives is the reasoning no topic list shows:
SEAB
reason mathematically; analyse information and make inferences; select appropriate strategies to solve problems
What MOE does fix is the share of challenging questions:
MOE
These 'challenging' questions are capped at 15% of the paper, i.e. 15 marks out of 100.
When is PSLE Maths 2027?
SEAB publishes the timetable early in the year. In 2026, Maths was on Friday 25 September. SEAB's rule for the two papers:
SEAB
Both papers will be scheduled on the same day with a break between the two papers.

Where StudyLah fits
An old paper cannot tell your child it is out of date. A paper built to the 2026 format does not need to.
- See how a question gets taught. Ten minutes, no account. Three exam-standard questions with the working shown afterwards, so you can see what earns a mark. Try it free
- Then let your child sit a paper in the current format. Exam Mode builds each paper to your child's level rather than reprinting an old year, and for P6 that is the 2026 format: two papers of 50 marks, Paper 1 without a calculator. One full paper a month is free. Start free
